This shows that the oyster mushroom cultivation education activity has succeeded in significantly increasing participants' knowledge, interest, and motivation, as well as providing benefits according to the needs of the participants. The main challenges faced include limited resources. However, effective collaboration with the school helped overcome these obstacles. This activity not only succeeded in transferring knowledge and understanding but also stimulated students' interest in entrepreneurship in agriculture. The program's sustainability is guaranteed through integrating materials into the school curriculum and the development plan for oyster mushroom production units in the madrasah environment. This service concludes that oyster mushroom cultivation education has great potential in preparing madrasah students to face economic opportunities in agribusiness.
Nurul Iqraini D., St Hijrah Alfiani, Ramlah Ramlah Copyright (c) 2024 Nurul Iqraini D., St Hijrah Alfiani, Ramlah Ramlah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ojs.unsulbar.ac.id/index.php/tarreang/article/view/4176 Sun, 10 Nov 2024 01:57:36 +0800 Pemanfaatan puntung rokok dan serai untuk pembuatan biopestisida dalam mengendalikan hama tanaman di Desa Katumbangan Lemo https://ojs.unsulbar.ac.id/index.php/tarreang/article/view/4267
Plant pests are one of the challenges faced by farmers. These pests are difficult to eradicate and increase production costs due to the many pesticides used. Therefore, this community service program introduced practical and affordable biopesticides. The program was conducted in two sessions, with session 1 being a lecture session and session 2 involving hands-on practice. The methods employed in this program included lectures, training, and discussions. In session 1, 20 participants attended, while session 2 saw an increase to 40 participants. The training covered theoretical materials on the basics of biopesticides, the ingredients, procedures, and mechanisms of action. The practical session involved the biopesticide-making process, which consisted of 6-8% cigarette butts, 25% lemongrass, 10% sugar, 20% EM4, and 1 liter of water. Based on the evaluation results before and after the activity, it was found that all evaluation indicators showed significant improvements in terms of knowledge, skills, interest, and practicality. Therefore, this program has successfully enhanced the participants’ knowledge, skills, and interest in applying biopesticide production in their daily work.
Isdaryanti Isdaryanti, Alexander Kurniawan Sariyanto Putera, Muhammad Rizal Kurniawan Yunus, Sufyan Hakim, Nursyamsi SY., Muhammad Arhim Copyright (c) 2024 Isdaryanti Isdaryanti, Alexander Kurniawan Sariyanto Putera, Muhammad Rizal Kurniawan Yunus, Sufyan Hakim, Nursyamsi SY. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ojs.unsulbar.ac.id/index.php/tarreang/article/view/4267 Sat, 30 Nov 2024 23:35:31 +0800 Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik cair (POC) berbahan bonggol pisang di komunitas Unsulbar Farming Club (UFC) https://ojs.unsulbar.ac.id/index.php/tarreang/article/view/4135
The objectives of community service conveyed through this outreach and training include: (1) Increasing the utilization of agricultural waste in the form of banana tubers into liquid organic fertilizer (POC); (2) Practicing how to make POC and applying it to land. Biochar can be used to process waste while increasing soil fertility. This practice aims to evaluate biochar production from rice husks and its benefits. This activity involved students and teaching assistants at the Green House of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, West Sulawesi University. The pyrolysis process burns rice husks in low oxygen conditions to produce biochar, and its benefits will be tested. The study showed that rice husk biochar improves soil structure and fertility, increases water retention, and provides a habitat for beneficial microorganisms. Biochar increases fertilizer use efficiency and effectively contributes to reducing agricultural production costs. Adding biochar to the soil can increase the availability of nutrients such as major cations, phosphorus, and nitrogen, reduce fertilizer loss through leaching and evaporation, and reduce negative impacts on plant growth and soil health. Therefore, rice husk biochar is a potential soil conditioner that can increase the fertility and productivity of agricultural land. Biochar has porous properties and a large surface area that allows it to absorb and retain water, nutrients, and beneficial microorganisms. Applying biochar to agricultural land reduces biomass waste, increases crop yields, and reduces soil and water pollution due to fertilizer leaching. Therefore, rice husk biochar provides a sustainable solution for agricultural waste management and soil quality improvement.
St. Kurniah, Maruf Maruf, Resti Patricia, Ones Sule, Abd.
