BANDAR: Journal of Civil Engineering (Online ISSN: 2623-2472, Print ISSN: 2656-7199) is a journal published by the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, West Sulawesi University. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the process of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, editor-in-chief, editorial board, reviewers and publishers.

Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines

Publication of articles in BANDAR journals is an essential element in the development of coherent and recognized knowledge, it is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the expected standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, bestarial partners, publishers and the public, all stages of publishing are very serious and we are aware of ethical and other responsibilities.

The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of West Sulawesi and the Editorial Board will assist in communicating about the journal if needed.

After reading this Scientific Publication Ethics, please download the Ethics Statement. Please sign and submit the Statement of Ethics as part of the article submission. This statement is based on the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publication of Scientific Publication Ethics (Perka LIPI No 5 Tahun 2014). A Copyright Agreement must be submitted before the article can be published. The Statement of Ethics and Copyright Agreement can be sent via email or at the time of article submission together.

Publication Decision

BANDAR editors are responsible for deciding which articles should be submitted. The validity of the work and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive the decision. The editor may be guided by the journal's editorial board policy and limited by applicable legal provisions, such as defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism, The editor may consult with other editors or review partners in making this decision.

Fairness

Aspect Editors evaluate manuscripts at all times for the author's intellectual content without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, nationality, or political views.

any editorial staff should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the author, reviewers, other appropriate editorial boards, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Misuse of Publications

Material in the submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.

Reviewer Contributions

Editorial Decision Partner

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and can assist authors in improving the quality of manuscripts through editors.

Reviewer Speed

Selected reviewers who feel unqualified/uninterested in reviewing the manuscript or do not have sufficient time to review should immediately notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review should be treated as confidential documents. Manuscripts should not be distributed or discussed with others unless authorized by the editor.

Review Objectivity Standards

Inappropriate author errors are conveyed objectively. Reviewers should clearly state their views with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of Reviewer Sources

Statements of observation, derivation, or argument should be accompanied by relevant citations. Reviewers should also inform the editor if there is substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and other published articles.

Information Disclosure

Information or ideas obtained in the review process should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should reject manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest due to competition, collaboration, or other relationships and connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the manuscript.

Author Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate report of the work performed and an objective discussion of the significance of the research. The underlying data should be accurately included in the manuscript. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Reporting fraud or knowingly providing inaccurate information is unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Data Access

Authors are requested to provide raw data related to the manuscript for editorial purposes, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, where possible, and in any case should retain such data after publication.

Authenticity

Authors should ensure that they have written completely original work, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, this should be properly cited.

Repeated Publication

An author should not publish a manuscript describing the essence of the same research in more than one journal or major publication.Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to more than one journal is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Proper Source Recognition

Recognition of the work of others should always be given.  Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the work to be reported. Authors should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the reported research. Each person who has made a significant contribution should be listed as a co-author.  Other persons or parties who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be recognized or listed as contributors.

Corresponding authors should ensure that all corresponding authors are listed in the manuscript and there are no non-corresponding authors, and that all authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have approved its submission for publication.All authors must disclose in their manuscript any substantive or financial conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. When an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in the published work, it is the author's obligation to notify the journal editor or publisher immediately and work with the editor to withdraw or correct the manuscript.
