Publication Ethic

The Celebes Journal of Elementary Education (CJEE) journal is a scientific journal which aims to accommodate articles resulting from research in the field of education and learning in elementary schools. CJEE covers the study of basic education and develops research topics into various scopes such as teaching and learning innovation, learning models and methods, curriculum development, assessment and teaching, school management, educational counseling, educational policy, and STEAM in basic education. This journal is based on COPE Code of Ethics and Best Practices Guide for Journal Editors

This journal is published twice a year (June and December) by the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, University of West Sulawesi.

Articles based on the results of the review support and embody a scientific approach. Therefore, publication ethical standards are required for all parties involved in publication: editors, reviewers, and authors.

All parties involved in the publishing process of Celebes Journal of Elementary Education (authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers) must adhere to the publication ethics standards to maintain the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing.

Authors’ Responsibilities:

  • Authors must present an accurate, original, objective, and significant account of their research work.

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been previously published or currently under review by another journal.

  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given.

  • Authors must disclose all sources of financial support or contributions to the research in the acknowledgment section.

  • If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Editors’ Responsibilities:

  • Editors are responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published based on the manuscript's quality and scientific contribution.

  • Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively, without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, citizenship, or political philosophy.

  • Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use the information gained for personal advantage.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities:

  • Reviewers must provide an objective, honest, and constructive review of the manuscript.

  • Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and report any indication of plagiarism or redundant publication.

  • Reviewers must keep the reviewed manuscript confidential and not use the information for personal advantage.

Publisher’s Responsibilities:

  • The publisher supports the editors and editorial board in carrying out their duties professionally and ethically.

  • The publisher ensures that all publishing processes are conducted fairly, transparently, and with academic integrity.

  • In cases of ethical misconduct, the publisher will take necessary actions, including manuscript retraction or issuing corrections.

All submitted articles will be checked for similarity using Turnitin with a maximum allowed similarity level of 25%. Celebes Journal of Elementary Education is committed to preventing plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of publication malpractice.
