The choice of growing media is a critical factor in determining the success of plant growth, particularly during the early seedling phase, where compact and nutrient-poor ordinary soil often hinders root development. Using mature goat manure effectively enhances soil structure by increasing its porosity and enriching it with essential nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). This activity aimed to give Agroecotechnology students practical skills in material selection, media mixing, and composting to produce high-quality seedling media. The training was conducted at the Universitas Sulawesi Barat Greenhouse, involving 45 participants. The procedures included soaking chili seeds for 24 hours to accelerate imbibition, sieving soil and animal manure separately, and mixing the two materials in a 1:2 ratio (1 kg of soil to 2 kg of manure) until homogeneous. The growing media produced exhibited crumbly, homogeneous, and porous properties, which are optimal for supporting seedling growth. Before training, participants had limited technical understanding; however, after the practice, there was a significant increase in their knowledge regarding the importance of sieving, mixing ratios, and identifying high-quality media characteristics. The increasing of knowledge was identified through evaluation results using pre-test and post-test instruments, which showed a rise in average scores from 1.8 to 4.0. The integration of direct practical experience in learning is capable of producing standardized seedling media while simultaneously enhancing students' technical competence in crop cultivation.
