AI Policy
JEPA Journal acknowledges the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and writing. This policy provides guidance on the ethical and responsible use of AI in manuscript preparation and publication.
1. Use of AI Tools by Authors
- Authors may use AI tools (e.g., language editing, grammar checking, or data analysis support) to assist in manuscript preparation.
- AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as authorship requires accountability and responsibility that only humans can assume.
- Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the content, regardless of AI assistance.
2. Disclosure of AI Use
- Authors must clearly disclose any use of AI tools in the manuscript, particularly if AI has been used for writing, data analysis, or image generation.
- Disclosure should be included in a separate section (e.g., “Acknowledgements” or “Methodology”).
3. Prohibited Uses
- The use of AI to generate fabricated data, manipulate results, or produce misleading content is strictly prohibited.
- AI must not be used to bypass ethical standards, including plagiarism detection.
- Submitting AI-generated content without proper review and validation by the author is not permitted.
4. Responsibility and Accountability
- Authors remain fully accountable for all aspects of their work, including content generated or assisted by AI.
- Any errors, biases, or ethical issues arising from AI use are the responsibility of the authors.
5. Use of AI by Reviewers and Editors
- Reviewers and editors must not upload or share confidential manuscript content to AI tools that may compromise confidentiality.
- AI tools may be used in a limited capacity for language assistance, provided confidentiality is maintained.
6. Ethical Considerations
- AI use must align with principles of academic integrity, transparency, and fairness.
- Authors should ensure that AI outputs are critically evaluated and verified.
7. Compliance
- Manuscripts that do not comply with this AI policy may be rejected.
- The journal reserves the right to request clarification regarding AI usage in submitted manuscripts.
JEPA Journal is committed to ensuring that the integration of AI in scholarly publishing supports innovation while maintaining ethical and academic standards.
