Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to Nutrition Science and Health Research must follow the guidelines described below.
- Language
Manuscripts must be written in English and Indonesian using clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic language. Authors are encouraged to have their manuscripts proofread prior to submission.
- Originality and Publication Ethics
Submitted manuscripts must meet the following requirements:
- The manuscript must be original and unpublished work.
- The manuscript must not be under consideration for publication in another journal.
- Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited.
- The manuscript must be free from plagiarism.
- Any conflicts of interest must be clearly declared.
The journal follows ethical guidelines based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Article Types
The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles
- Case Studies related to nutrition and health sciences
- Manuscript Preparation
Authors must prepare manuscripts using the journal article template.
General Formatting
- Manuscript file format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Manuscript length: 4,000 – 7,000 words
- Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:
Title
The title should be clear, concise, and informative, with a maximum of 20 words.
Author Information
Include:
- Full names of all authors
- Institutional affiliations
- Country
- Email address of the corresponding author
Abstract
The abstract must be written in English and should not exceed 250 words.
The abstract should briefly include:
- Background
- Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
Keywords
Provide 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons.
Introduction
The introduction should explain:
- Background of the study
- Research problems
- Relevant literature
- Objectives of the research
Methods
This section should clearly describe:
- Research design
- Study population or sample
- Sampling technique
- Data collection methods
- Research instruments
- Data analysis
If human participants are involved, authors must include ethical approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee.
Results
Present the research findings clearly and systematically. Tables and figures should be used where appropriate.
Discussion
The discussion should interpret the findings and compare them with previous studies. Authors should explain the significance of the results and their implications for nutrition science and public health.
Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize the main findings of the study and may include recommendations.
Acknowledgments
Authors may acknowledge funding sources or individuals who contributed to the research but are not listed as authors.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest.
References
All references cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list.
- References
References should follow a recognized citation style such as Vancouver Style
Authors are encouraged to:
- Use recent references (within the last 10 years).
- Cite articles from reputable scientific journals.
- Include at least 20 references.
The use of reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is recommended.
- Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should meet the following requirements:
- Each table and figure must have a title and number.
- Tables should be placed within the manuscript text.
- Figures must have clear resolution and captions.
- Sources must be cited if the table or figure is adapted from other publications.
- Ethical Approval
Research involving human participants must include a statement indicating that the study received approval from an institutional ethics committee.
- Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system (Open Journal Systems / OJS) at:

Authors must register and follow the submission steps in the system.
