Authors who publish with Indonesian Journal of Ecology and Conservation (IJEC) agree to the following terms and conditions governing copyright, licensing, and publication rights.
1. Copyright ownership
Authors retain the copyright of their published articles without restriction.
IJEC recognizes that authors hold full intellectual property rights over their work and is committed to protecting those rights against unauthorized use, plagiarism, or infringement.
2. License to publish
By submitting and publishing their work in IJEC, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, reproduce, and archive the article in all forms and media.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- publication in electronic and printed formats
- distribution through indexing services and databases
- long-term digital archiving and preservation
- inclusion in institutional repositories and aggregators
This license allows IJEC to ensure the visibility, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly work.
3. Open access license (CC BY-SA 4.0)
All articles published in IJEC are distributed under the:
Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)

Under this license:
Users are free to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use
Under the following conditions:
- Attribution — appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s), a link to the license must be provided, and any changes must be indicated
- ShareAlike — if the material is remixed or transformed, the resulting work must be distributed under the same license
4. Author rights
Authors retain extensive rights over their work, including:
- the right to reuse all or part of the article in future works (e.g., books, lectures, theses, or derivative research)
- the right to share and distribute the published version of the article in:
- institutional repositories
- personal or academic websites
- academic social networks
- the right to reproduce and distribute the article for academic or commercial purposes under CC BY-SA terms
All reuse must include proper acknowledgment of the original publication in IJEC.
5. Author warranties and responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript to IJEC, authors confirm that:
- the work is original and has not been published previously
- the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere
- the content does not infringe on any copyright, intellectual property, or legal rights of others
- all necessary permissions for third-party materials (figures, tables, data) have been obtained
- all listed authors have approved the manuscript and agree to its submission
Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work.
6. User rights and responsibilities
Users of IJEC content are permitted to:
- read, download, copy, distribute, print, and link to the full text
- reuse and adapt content in accordance with CC BY-SA 4.0
Users must:
- provide proper attribution to the original author(s) and source
- include a link to the license
- indicate if changes were made
- distribute derivative works under the same license
Failure to comply with these terms constitutes a violation of the license.
7. Self-archiving policy
IJEC supports open dissemination of knowledge and allows authors to deposit:
- preprint versions (before peer review)
- accepted manuscripts (after peer review)
- final published versions
in:
- institutional repositories
- personal or academic websites
- open-access platforms
Authors must clearly acknowledge IJEC as the original publisher.
8. Third-party materials
If the manuscript contains materials (e.g., figures, tables, images) owned by third parties:
- authors must obtain written permission from the copyright holder
- proper credit must be provided in the manuscript
IJEC is not responsible for copyright violations related to third-party materials.
9. Rights of the publisher
IJEC retains the right to:
- format and edit manuscripts for publication
- distribute and promote published articles
- include articles in indexing databases and archiving systems
These rights do not limit the author’s ownership of copyright.
10. Liability and disclaimer
The authors are solely responsible for the content of their articles, including:
- accuracy of data
- statements and interpretations
- citations and references
The publisher and editorial board are not liable for any consequences arising from the use of published materials.
