The Indonesian Journal of Ecology and Conservation (IJEC) strongly opposes any form of plagiarism and academic misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to IJEC must be original works and must not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are entirely original. If the authors have used the work, ideas, or words of others, these must be properly cited or quoted in accordance with academic standards.

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or other similarity checking tools. The editorial team will evaluate the similarity index before the manuscript proceeds to the peer-review process.

The acceptable similarity index for manuscripts submitted to IJEC is a maximum of 25%, excluding references, quotations, and methodological similarities. Manuscripts that exceed this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright depending on the level and nature of the similarity.

Forms of plagiarism that are considered unethical include but are not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text without proper citation

  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without acknowledgement

  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication

  • Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously

  • Using data, figures, or ideas without proper attribution

If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the manuscript will be immediately rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and notify the author's institution or relevant authorities.

The editorial board of IJEC follows international standards of publication ethics and is committed to maintaining academic integrity in all published articles
