Archiving Policy

Journal of Public Administration and Policy Studies (JPAPS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of its published scholarly content.

1. Digital Preservation

JPAPS maintains its published content through the journal's official electronic publishing platform. The journal and its publisher are committed to maintaining appropriate backup and preservation procedures to protect published articles, metadata, supplementary materials, and other essential publication records from data loss, technical failure, system migration, or other disruptions.

2. Long-Term Archiving

JPAPS is committed to using recognized digital preservation and archiving mechanisms to support the long-term availability of its published content.

As the journal develops its preservation infrastructure, JPAPS may participate in recognized digital preservation services such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Internet Archive, or other appropriate long-term preservation services.

The specific preservation service used by JPAPS will be stated on this page once the service has been activated and the journal's content is successfully archived through that service.

3. Preservation of Published Content

The journal seeks to preserve the scholarly record in its published form. Preserved materials may include published articles, article metadata, supplementary materials where applicable, volume and issue information, and other publication records necessary to maintain the integrity of the journal archive.

Where technically possible, the preserved version will correspond to the published Version of Record.

4. Continuity of Access

In the event that the journal's primary website becomes temporarily or permanently unavailable, or if JPAPS ceases publication, the journal aims to ensure that previously published scholarly content remains accessible through its designated preservation or archiving services.

This preservation commitment is intended to protect published scholarly works from permanent loss and maintain their long-term availability to the academic community and the public.

5. Author Self-Archiving

In accordance with the journal's Open Access Policy and Copyright & Licensing Policy, authors are permitted to deposit and share their published articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate scholarly platforms.

Authors may archive the published Version of Record in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license, provided that the original publication in JPAPS is properly acknowledged and the DOI or official journal link is included where available.

6. Policy Updates

JPAPS may periodically review and update its digital preservation and archiving arrangements in response to technological developments, changes in preservation services, or developments in scholarly publishing standards.

Any long-term preservation service actively used by JPAPS will be transparently identified in this policy.
