Copyright & Licensing

Journal of Public Administration and Policy Studies (JPAPS) is committed to protecting authors' rights while promoting the widest possible dissemination, accessibility, and responsible reuse of scholarly works published in the journal.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the copyright of articles published in JPAPS.

By submitting and publishing an article in JPAPS, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and authorize JPAPS to publish, distribute, archive, preserve, and disseminate the published version of the article as part of the journal's scholarly publication activities.

The transfer of copyright ownership from the author to the journal or publisher is not required.

2. Licensing

Articles published in JPAPS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license, users are permitted to copy, distribute, share, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published material for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original work are clearly indicated.

The license does not permit users to imply that the original author(s) or JPAPS endorse a particular reuse or adaptation.

3. Author Rights

Authors retain the right to use and reuse their published work in accordance with the applicable license.

Authors may distribute, reproduce, translate, adapt, include, or reuse their published articles in subsequent scholarly works, books, teaching materials, institutional repositories, personal websites, academic networks, or other appropriate platforms, provided that the original publication in JPAPS is properly acknowledged.

Authors are encouraged to provide the DOI or official journal link when sharing the published version of their article.

4. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for obtaining appropriate permission to reproduce copyrighted materials owned by third parties, including figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, maps, instruments, or substantial textual materials, when such permission is required.

Third-party materials that are not covered by the article's Creative Commons license must be clearly identified with appropriate copyright and licensing information.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the use of third-party materials complies with applicable copyright laws and licensing requirements.

5. Attribution Requirements

Any reuse of material published under the CC BY 4.0 license must provide appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and acknowledge JPAPS as the original place of publication.

Where applicable, attribution should include the author(s), article title, journal title, year of publication, DOI or official publication link, and a reference to the CC BY 4.0 license.

6. Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to deposit and share versions of their work in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, or other scholarly platforms in accordance with the journal's open-access and licensing policies.

Authors may share the published Version of Record without an embargo period, provided that the original publication in JPAPS is properly acknowledged and the DOI or official journal link is included where available.

7. Relationship with Open Access

The copyright and licensing policy of JPAPS supports the journal's Open Access Policy by ensuring that published articles are not only freely accessible but may also be responsibly reused under clearly defined licensing terms.

The copyright policy, open-access policy, and licensing terms are intended to operate consistently and transparently.
