The Indonesian Journal of Educational Science (IJES) is committed to promoting the broad dissemination of educational knowledge by providing immediate and unrestricted access to all published articles.
IJES believes that making research freely available to the public supports the global exchange of knowledge, increases research visibility, encourages academic collaboration, and enables research findings to generate broader educational and social benefits.
All articles published in IJES are made freely available online immediately upon publication without an embargo period.
Readers may access, read, download, and share published articles without:
paying subscription fees;
registering for an account;
requesting special permission; or
encountering institutional access restrictions.
IJES does not charge readers or institutions for access to its published content.
IJES implements open access based on the principle that scholarly knowledge should be accessible to researchers, lecturers, teachers, students, policymakers, practitioners, educational institutions, and the general public.
The journal’s open-access policy is intended to:
increase the visibility and readership of published research;
expand opportunities for scholarly citation and academic collaboration;
support equitable access to educational knowledge;
facilitate the use of research findings in education, policy, and professional practice;
encourage the development of new research and innovation; and
strengthen the global exchange of scientific knowledge.
Authors retain the copyright to their published articles.
By publishing an article in IJES, authors authorize the journal and Universitas Sulawesi Barat to publish, distribute, preserve, index, and make the article publicly available as the version of record.
Authors retain the right to use and distribute their work in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license, provided that the original publication in IJES is properly acknowledged.
Unless otherwise stated, articles published in IJES are licensed under the:
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
Under this license, users are permitted to:
copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
share the article through websites, repositories, learning-management systems, and academic networks;
adapt, remix, transform, or build upon the material; and
use the material for educational, research, and other non-commercial purposes.
These permissions apply provided that users comply with the terms of the license.
Users who copy, distribute, or adapt material published in IJES must:
give appropriate credit to the author or authors;
cite the original article published in IJES;
provide the article title, journal name, publication year, volume, issue, page numbers, and DOI where available;
include a link to the CC BY-NC 4.0 license; and
clearly indicate whether any changes or adaptations have been made.
Attribution must not suggest that the authors, IJES, or Universitas Sulawesi Barat endorse the user or the manner in which the material is reused.
Material published under the CC BY-NC 4.0 license may not be used primarily for commercial advantage or monetary compensation without additional permission from the relevant copyright holder.
Users who wish to reuse IJES content for commercial purposes must contact the author or copyright holder and the journal’s editorial office to determine whether additional permission is required.
The license does not restrict uses that are otherwise permitted under applicable copyright exceptions and limitations.
Images, photographs, research instruments, datasets, tables, figures, or other third-party materials included in an article may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.
When third-party material is not covered by the article’s Creative Commons license, users must obtain permission directly from the relevant copyright holder before copying, modifying, or redistributing the material.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use copyrighted third-party materials before submitting their manuscripts to IJES.
Authors may deposit and share their published articles in:
institutional repositories;
disciplinary repositories;
personal academic websites;
research-group websites;
academic social networks; and
other non-commercial scholarly platforms.
Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their article and include the complete citation and DOI link to the version of record on the IJES website.
No embargo period is applied to author self-archiving.
IJES seeks to increase the long-term accessibility and discoverability of its publications through journal indexing, metadata distribution, digital identifiers, institutional preservation, and other scholarly communication services.
Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier where applicable to provide a persistent link to the version of record.
The journal is committed to maintaining access to its published content and preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.
Open access means that readers can access published articles freely. It does not necessarily mean that all editorial and publication processes are free of cost.
Any submission, review, or publication charges applied by IJES are presented separately and transparently on the journal’s Author Fees page. The existence or payment of a publication fee does not influence editorial decisions, peer-review outcomes, or the academic evaluation of a manuscript.
The implementation of immediate open access provides several benefits, including:
free worldwide access to published articles;
increased visibility and potential readership;
wider dissemination of educational research;
opportunities for increased citation and scholarly impact;
easier use of research in teaching and professional practice;
broader collaboration among researchers and institutions; and
preservation of authors’ copyright in their work.
